How do I fix SharePoint access issues? ›

In the SharePoint admin center, select Sites > Active sites or browse to the Active sites page. In the left column, select a site. Select Membership on the command bar to open the details panel to update the permissions of the members. Add or remove people or change their role, and then select Save.

Access Denied error occurs when user's browser caches incorrect login/permissions information or user does not have appropriate permission on SharePoint site. Resolution: Try to log in from another browser. If works, clear up browser's cache.

Change permissions levels in SharePoint

Go to <site URL>/_layouts/15/permsetup. aspx and select the corresponding groups in the form. Finally, press OK to create the associations. Now the deleted SharePoint groups of the site are restored.
