Her love for hospitality sparked in her homeland, Greece, with a childhood dream of opening her own boutique hotel. So, when she moved to Denmark at 16, she started studying tourism and hospitality management – topped with digital marketing. This led to an internship at Hotel Ottilia, where she discovered new skills, and learned even more about the hospitality industry. Fast forward to today, Sofia now brings her vibrant energy to the lobby bar at Hotel Danmark serving drinks, local tips, and a top-notch service.In her role as a hostess, she loves creating a warm and welcoming experience:“I just like being able to serve other people, you know? MORTEN!This time, we're shining the spotlight on Morten, as he marks his 10TH ANNIVERSARY with Brøchner Hotels!Morten's journey into the hospitality industry began in 2011 when he started as a waiter and quickly realized his passion for it. In 2014, he kicked off his Brøchner career staying awake during night shifts in the lobby bar. Fast forward through various roles, his dedication and hard work paved the way to Hotel Danmark, where he now excels as a Front of House Manager.Morten's role is all about ensuring smooth daily operations and providing support to both the team and guests.In his role, he loves evolving new team members by teaching and sharing his knowledge. "To see someone go from beginner to an expert with a lot of confidence in their abilities is truly amazing."What makes Brøchner special for Morten? The 'one team'-spirit! "Even though we’re spread across different hotels and departments, it feels like one big team with a common goal. Plus, the owners genuinely care about knowing their staff."𝗙𝗨𝗡 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗧: Morten is quite the scuba diving pro! With an Advanced Rescue Diver certificate and over 150 dives, he’s explored caves, wrecks, and loves diving at night. RENÉThis month, we're celebrating René, our 'Sidekick' at Hotel Ottilia!René kicked off his Brøchner career as an intern at Hotel Ottilia in 2021 and has been a vital part of the team ever since, now serving as a full-time host in the lobby bar.He got into the hospitality industry because of the many opportunities and exciting challenges: “Whether it’s food and drink, event planning, or hotel management, there’s always something interesting to explore”.René loves the variety his role offers, ensuring guests have an unforgettable stay. “I love making people feel welcome, working in a fast-paced environment, and meeting a variety of guests from all over. It is all about creating great memories for our guests from the moment they walk in until the moment they leave”. However, he is quite a co*cktail enthusiast. 𝗦𝗔𝗬 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗢 𝗧𝗢… 𝗔𝗟𝗙𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗢This month, we're celebrating Alfonso, our 'Sidekick' at Hotel SP34!Starting part-time in November 2021 during his studies and internship at the Natural History Museum of Copenhagen, Alfonso quickly grew into a full-time role and is now our esteemed restaurant supervisor. Alfonso’s journey combines passion and resilience: “Growing up in Italy, my parents owned a café, and I worked in hotel breakfasts to pay for my studies. After six years in natural sciences, the pandemic led me to Copenhagen, where I found growth and satisfaction in this company.” Alfonso loves working with the public: “It brings new experiences, funny moments, and friendships. A happy team means happy customers and a smoothly running restaurant.” And what makes Brøchner special for Alfonso? “I feel comfortable here because the communication style matches mine perfectly. Growing up in a Neapolitan family, I’ve been making coffee since I was 10, and it’s something I love doing at work—along with teasing my colleagues,” he adds with a smile.
